Comparing Fractions Game

Lesson: Comparing Fractions Game
Grade Level: 4-6
Skills: understanding and comparing fractions

Materials:
2 dice (can be 1-6 or 1-9)
game sheet

How to Play:
1. Player rolls 2 dice and chooses one number to be the numerator and one to be the denominator. The fraction must be equal to 1 or less (which means the greater or same number in denominator)
2. Player 1 writes their fraction on the scoresheet in player 1 column
3. Second player rolls dice and writes their fraction in player 2 column

4. Students compare their fractions and write <,>,=  in the circle on the scoresheet. 

The player with the greater fraction wins the round. 

Example: In this example the first player has rolled a 1 and a 3, and the second player has rolled a 1 and a 2. The second player has won the round.
