Chapter 3.2: A Very Strange Place For an Elevator

The students looked at each other in a panic when they realized they didn’t have enough plants.
David said, “Where on earth are we going to get more plants from? There aren’t any more in this entire room?”
“Lets’ break the celery sticks in half.” said Serena, “Cocoa will never know the difference, and we will have twice as many pieces of celery!”

How many plants would they have altogether if they break the celery sticks in half?

REMINDER:The students had gathered up 24 pea plants, 24 celery sticks and 14 sprouting corn plants.

Did the students now have enough plants to satisfy Cocoa? (remember they needed 70)
