spell check button“It’s good to be able to spell words correctly, even without spellcheck or grammarly. I’ll give someone a chance to spell it on the board, any takers?”

Jenna raised her hand and I called on her. She came up to the board and this is what she confidently wrote:

Muostache

“Actually, Jenna, that’s close, but it’s not quite right,” I said.
“Darn, I thought I had it.”
While Jenna walked back to her seat, everyone noticed that she began to rub around her cheeks and under her nose.
“What are you doing Jenna?” asked Jackie, “Are you OK?”
“I don’t know, my face feels itchy,” she said as she sat down at her desk spot.
Jake raised his hand and asked if he could try his spelling.
I said, “OK, but this is the last try before I have someone look it up in the dictionary.”
dictionary“What’s a dictionary?” asked Zander.
“Very funny Zander, now Jake, you’ll be the last to try to spell mustache.”
This is what Jake wrote:

Mustatch

“Jake, that’s close, but it’s not actually correct,” I said.
“Oh darn,” said Jake, “I thought I had it.” While Jake walked back to his desk, everyone saw him begin to rub around his cheeks and under his nose.
“What are you doing Jake?” asked Jackie, “Are you OK?”
“I don’t know, my face feels really itchy,” he said as he sat down at his desk spot.
