Page 2: Another Recess and Another Recess and...

“That’s strange, I’m sure you just had recess,” I said, but by the time I was done with my sentence, all the students had run out for recess again.

At 12:30 the students came back from recess just like they always did.
The students went back to their desks and sat down just like they always did.
And then things got strange again.
Chris raised his hand and said, “Hey Mr. R., it’s time for recess, we don’t want to be late.”
“You just had recess,” I said, “Now it’s time for the spelling quiz.”
11-30 Clock“No,” said Jenna, “look at the clock. It’s time for recess. 11:30AM.”
“I looked at the clock and it said 11:30. I closed my eyes for a second and opened them to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. The clock still said 11:30.
“That’s strange, I could have sworn you just had recess twice,” but by the time I was done with my sentence, all the students had run out to have recess again. Again!recess
This time, when the students were out, I went over to the clock to see if there was something wrong with it.

I saw there was a little door on the side of the clock. It was weird that I had never seen the door before.
sweater recessI opened the little door and looked inside. I couldn’t believe what I saw. And to this day, even though I know I saw it, I still can’t believe it.
I saw a tiny little man sitting in a chair. He was wearing a green sweater that said RECESS on it.

If the little man had gone shopping with $99, and he had spent 2/3 of the money on pants, and all the remaining money on the sweater that said RECESS on it, how much did the sweater cost
