Mr. R.’s World of Math

One day the sun forgot to shine,
“I’m busy adding 9 plus 9!”
Screamed the sun,
“I just can’t shine,
 When I’m busy adding 9 plus 9!”
It got dark and it got cold,

Then a girl, 9-years-old,
Said these words, to the sun,
And they helped everyone…
“Listen sun, it’s plain to me,
We need your light, so we can see!”
She told the sun, 9 + 9,
Makes 18 every time!
Sun said, “Yes, yes, you’re right,”
And turned back on its sunny light…
