Chapter 8.4

Justin dove into the elevator just as the whole school began to fade to nothingness. They all looked at Cocoa’s reflection inside the jar.
“If the school vaporizes around Cocoa, we can live inside of her reflection. As long as we keep the reflection safe, we’ll be safe too!” said Norman.
“I hope you’re correct,” said Serena.
“Whatever!” said Hannah, “let’s just get out of here!”
“What floor?” asked Norman as he closed the door of the elevator.
“Any floor that’s far away from here!” yelled the students.
Norman pressed a few buttons and the elevator started to shake.
“I hope you know how to drive this thing,” said David.
The elevator started to make weird noises and then it started to fall. It was falling so fast the students had to scream. It was like riding the free-fall ride at the amusement park. It was falling so fast, the students’ stomachs came right out of their mouths. Not only were their stomachs hanging outside of their mouths, but for some reason, the students could see everything inside of the stomachs.
Greg looked at Hannah’s stomach and said, “Hannah, I didn’t know that you had macaroni and cheese for lunch.”
Justin looked at David’s stomach and said, “David, didn’t you listen to MR. R. when he told you that you were only allowed to have one cookie for snack?”
Greg looked at Serena’s stomach and said, “Serena, you have to stop adding so much sugar to your cereal at breakfast. It’s not healthy.”
David looked at Norman’s stomach and froze. He couldn’t say a word so he just tapped Greg on the shoulder and pointed to Norman’s stomach. Greg almost passed out from fear when he saw it. Greg tapped Serena on the shoulder and pointed to Norman’s stomach. Serena almost wished she had never been born when she saw it.
Slowly all of them saw Norman’s stomach. It was horrible, it was terrible, and it was disgusting. What they saw was so bad, they all knew they would never be the same again…
