There was a sign,
On a tree,
You must be 10,
To play on me!
You must be ten,
To climb up high,
You must be ten,
To reach the sky!
I was only 9,
Couldn't wait,
'Til I was 10,
Had to climb that tree,
Right there and then!
I sat and thought it out,
And a plan began to sprout,
I decided,
It was time for little sis...
She was 1 year old,
And the truth, I had been told,
Is that 9 + 1,
Would go a bit like this...
The sum of 1 and 9,
Is a 10 every time,
And 10 is what we used,
To fool that tree...
With little sister there,
My smile filled the air,
And the 10 we made together,
Set us free...
