The math contained in the math story is generally geared toward fourth grade students and accelerated third grade students, but teachers of classes up to eighth grade have used it as a remediation tool. The story integrates language and math and will hopefully encourage students to read both story and questions carefully so that they can learn to glean pertinent information for the solving of word problems.
Students working on the math story will need a pencil and paper to work through some of the problems, and since there are only a few "hint" pages, they may need your support to get through some of the trickier examples.
The math poems are written to be fun ways to introduce different math concepts. They cover math topics for many grade levels, but kids and adults of all ages can enjoy them.
