Lesson: The Problem with the Tiles
Grade Level: 2-3
Skills: Addition, subtraction, number sense

I went to to buy tiles for my kitchen floor. I found that different color tiles were different prices. Here are the prices:

yellow tiles  $1
blue tiles      $2
red tiles       $3

I only have $13 to spend and I need to find out what different combinations of the 3 colors I can make to spend all of my money. Can you help show some of them? Use color tiles to help solve.
Example: 4 red and 1 yellow= $13

What combinations could I make if I could buy green tiles for $4 each?
