The Smile and the Frown

"Is it really that bad to
always be sad?"
Said the smile to the frown one day.

"To be sad
isn't good,
It's like swallowing wood,
It hurts deep inside I should say.
But what can I do? I was born being sad?"
said the frown, who tried not to cry...

The smile said, "Hmm, we'll
do something good,
I have an idea we just must go try..."
The smile then
tried to flip frown upside down,
But the frown just wouldn't do flips.

"I know if I get you
right upside-down,
There'll be a smile on your two lips..."

But the frown
couldn't budge,
Although it wanted to flip,
And the smile was quite inspired...
He tried and he tried,
To flip 'round Mr. Frown,
Until he was just too, too, tired...

Smile sat down
and laughed a bit,
Because laughing is what smile did do...

He looked at the sky,
And down at the ground and said,
"Here's some advice for you...
If you're born as a frown,
A frown is what you'll be,
You have to enjoy frown life,
'Cause that's the life you lead...
Frowns are important,
Because people get sad,
And they may not feel like a smile...

A frown's the expression,
Their face must wear,
Even if just for a while...
So live your life, Mr. Frown,
For all that you can,
Each second, each minute, each day...
Enjoy being a frown,
Enjoy what you do,
And happiness will soon come your way...
