After just a
few minutes the windows of the elevator were completely covered
with the goop and it was very dark in the room. Of course the
students were very scared but it wasn't the gooey-goo that was scary to the students. They liked the gooey-goo and they liked the dark also. What they didn't like was the horrible faces that were being pushed up to
the windows like the sides of the cube inside one of those magic
eight-ball fortune telling toys. The faces were being squeezed
up against the glass, pushed up by the black goo and they looked horrible. They were completely surrounded by the
gooey substance and they looked pale and lifeless. The only parts
that had color were the nostrils on the noses. The nostrils looked
as bright as Fruity Loopers breakfast cereal floating in milk.
"Hey,
I had Fruity Loopers for breakfast," yelled
Serena.
"You
know you shouldn't eat those," said David, "They have
way too much sugar."
"Why
do you say that?" questioned Serena.
"I did some research on the internet and found out that one
bowl of those things has 16 teaspoons of sugar in it!"
"Wow, and I had 2
and 1/2 bowls of
them this morning." Worried Serena. If one bowl of Fruity
Loopers has 16 teaspoons of sugar, how many teaspoons of sugar
did Serena have in her 2 and one-half bowls of cereal?
